Jaromír Jagr was selected fifth in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft, but none of the rookies among that group went on to enjoy a better career than the right winger from Kladno, Czechoslovakia. Only Wayne Gretzky has ever managed to rack up more points in an NHL career. Jagr had good fortune from the very beginning: His Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup in each of his first two NHL seasons (1991 & 1992).
After these early triumphs, Jagr rapidly transformed into a scoring sensation, capturing his first Art Ross Trophy in 1995 (four more would follow). He was also a frequent sight at the NHL All-Star Game during the '90s. In July 2001, he was traded to the Washington Capitals, and spent the next decade and a half bouncing from one team to another while his scoring stats continued to climb. He played for a total of nine NHL franchises during his illustrious career. His 66-point scoring spree in 2015-16 made him the oldest player (age 44) to break 60 in a single season, and earned him the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy for his achievement.
